PA-12 Exhaust Update

I just received a call from a customer named Danny D. who has a PA-12 with a 160Hp engine. He said he recorded all of his performance numbers with the stock exhaust and there were big changes after he installed the Leading Edge Exhaust System. Take off performance has improved significantly. He said his rate of climb went from 750'/ minute to 1150'/minute. That's a 53% increase! In straight and level flight he gained 300 rpm's. 

 

Doug Drum of Indian Valley Meats, 907-653-7511 recently installed our system on his 180Hp PA-12. See photo of his very good looking PA-12 on floats in the photo gallery. He used electronic instrumentation for the following recorded gains: @2400 RPM fuel consumption was 9.2GPH and with the LEES exhaust system it dropped to 8.3GPH and @2300 RPM it was only 7.8GPH. You have to keep in mind that this  is with an O360-180HP engine. He saw a static RPM increase of 75RPM and a 250'/per minute  increase in his rate of climb. With the stock exhaust he could never reach redline with the throttle full bore and  with  LEES' exhaust he is now getting 2800 RPM and is considering repitching the prop for even greater performance.
