We have successfully passed the flight testing for the pre 55 C180 Dual Exhaust System. FAA/ACO advised us we could only have one STC project active at one time so we decided to complete the pre 55 ESA first. Having said that, our focus can now be solely on the PMCF. Our first run of pipes did not duplicate the PMCF prototype close enough because we were trying to reduce lead time tooling costs. The first run pipes did not fit the 185 engine mount but did fit the post 55 180’s utilizing a single muffler can as you can see in the auto sequencing photos; one aircraft a `67 model with an O550 engine has 2 tail pipes exiting the lower cowl and the `56 O470 with the long tailpipes.
We are reworking our final welding fixtures trees to copy the prototype outlet end much closer. The CMM data to produce the drawings is completed as well as the dyno testing. The test fit in the prototype was also completed. We are focusing on the 180, 182 and 185 PMCF and plan on completing everything ASAP, except…… the noise and flight testing until required warmer spring temperatures arrive.
I will reiterate the fact that if your name and the required information is not submitted as requested for the “200 Build List” we will not be able to provide you an estimate when your system will be completed. You need to get on the list ASAP!
Please note; all of our sales are sold as customer specific sales. Due to popularitry and demand of LEES' products we do not stock any of the products we manufacture. The down payment is required in order to procure materials required to build LEES' exhaust systems. Therefore there are no refunds on down payments.

Now more Horsepower and unbelievable Prop Twisting Torque is possible simply by installing LEES’ new “Cross-Flow™ dual exhaust system. LEES has just completed the final test fit on a Cessna 185 model aircraft. The aircraft information listed below is for the airplane used for test fit. Dual 2-1/2” tailpipes exit the lower cowling. Two tailpipe exit holes will be required in the L/H and R/H side of lower cowling. Exhaust pipes in the photographs were tacked for final fit up.

*According to customer dyno tests. The latest dyno test was done at Lycon Engines using one of Ken's IO550 Exp. 11:1 compression ratio engines. It pulled 354 Hp and 668 pound feet of torque with the stock Cessna exhaust system @ 2700rpm and with Leading Edge Exhaust System's "Power Monster Cross-Flow™" dual exhaust, it pulled 381 Hp and 708 pound feet of torque @ 2700rpm, a 27 Hp gain and 40 pound feet of torque!
